Half Naked And Singin'

Using Electronics To Make My Voice Sound Better, One Album At A Time

Britney in her music fiasco "I'm A Slave 4 U." Wonderin' why her thong is on the outside of her pants? Well, with all the guys in there, I'm guessing there is no room for underwear.  Remember, she's not a virgin anymore!

I have to admit whenever I first put this page up, I had had it up to HERE *points to over her head* with the whole pop music scene and the half naked folk.  But then I realized something, Britney Spears just looks ridiculous doing it.  It looks forced.

But I've decided that while Christina Aguilera's "wailing" gets on my nerves a bit, the girl can sing.  I have the "Stripped" album and I have to say that a few songs on there are really awesome.

But now that I've grown up a bit since I first wrote this "article" if you want to call it that, I've seen a lot more bands in person and a lot of local bands and I see what beautiful music these people make.

In this society however, you see still see the prejudice of not selling out.  Tori Amos is an example of an underplayed artist that relies on talent.  She has a huge following of course, but what about video play or radio play?  What about Eve 6? How about Rufus Wainwright or Starsailor?  While they're not females, they get beat out by other groups who are not as talented and make shitty music and STILL get more radio and video play. It's just what the masses love.

Music is supposed to be inspirational, not just something to throw around. I personally take music very seriously and while I like the parodies of songs, I think everyone in the world should start demanding the people we pay (the entertainers) to write lyrics that mean something, not just sing it because it rhymes. Because if we don't buy their music, then they're not going to get rich and famous and will just fizzle out and be nobody.

And ya'll, QUIT complaining about forums like Aimster, WIN MX, Morpheus, etc..etc. I use them all the time. Do you know how much they're charging for freakin' CD's now!? It's insane that something that costs 75 cents to make is sold for $20!! People are still going to download music off the internet. It's always going to happen. Besides, you artists are making ENOUGH money! So shut up and enjoy your millions.

I have one final thing to say about music nowadays. The artists had better be thankful that the fans do buy their music. And I think a lot of times, the entertainers don't realize, or perhaps they forget, just how important the fans really are.

But of course, this is just my opinion...and while it's a good one, it's not the only one.
